The wife tasked me to get rid of some of the junk that was cluttering some of our drawers in our bookshelves. One of the things she told me to toss was a collection of cassette tapes. Most all of them from my mission days or shortly thereafter since all I had was a tape deck in my little red Daihatsu Charade. Talk about blasts from the past. I've had a great time going through the contents on each of the little tapes: reliving some great memories, some great music, and no I'm not throwing all of them away. The jewel of the night however ended up being a cassette that we all thought was mine, yet it happened to be a cassette letter to Becky from this dude that totally had a crush on her. He'll remain nameless on the blog, but I actually ended up working with him at the same company for a couple weeks. Anyway, pretty funny stuff, and it sure got Becky blushing. She didn't seem to remember that this kid was as head over heals for her as he was. Too bad that it takes forever to listen to cassette tapes. When you comepare the process, the sound, and the experience to what we have now with digital music it's weird to think that I relied on that technology to capture such great times.

I love finding old memories like that. Tyler's missionary journal talks about his girlfriend and I always have to tease him about it!
