For a awhile I've wanted to post about another drawing based on a song. I've found just the right one in a round about way. Neil Diamond's Tap Root Manuscript album from 1970 brought us a gem of a song entitled Soolaimon. People have speculated the actual meaning of this song, and the explanation that is the easiest to understand is that the song was written during an African music experimental phase Neil was going through--this is truly evident as you listen to the rest of the album. So I bring you classic Neil paired with a classic beverage, homemade lemonade. The pair is bridged by a fictional and very made up Sue Lemon. The great news is that Sue brings us a classic recipe with her. Go buy some lemons, download the song, and go make some lemonade. Sing along with Neil and help usher in the spring.Sue Lemon's tasty sweet-n-sour tonic
1 C. Sugar, 5 C. water, 1 C. squeezed lemon juice
- Combine Sugar and 1 C. water in a saucepan and heat until all sugar dissolves and mixture becomes a syrup.
- Add lemon juice to syrup mixture in a pitcher.
- Pour 4 C. Water into the pitcher.
- Serve with ice and sliced lemons.
- Enjoy.

Ryan, I love this post! Interesting "twist" (pun intended)
You must be a realdiehard Neil fan, because I've never heard of this song before.
Another Strange factoid about Sue Lemon. Nadya Suleman has been in the news about having Octuplets. Suleman? Su-Le-Man? Could Neil have been singing about Octuplets in his song? Interesting.
