The third time was just as charming as the first two. I'll refrain from ranking this one along with the others and simply recommend to go see it. And if you haven't seen 1 or 2 go see them as well. As my wife and I laughed all the way through this film I'd often glance over at my kids. They too were definitely engaged in the story, but for completely different reasons. I imagine that my kids simply like this film and it's predecessors for the toys; the characters that they've come to love. Toy Story is so much more than fantastic characters though; toy story is about the human experience told so wonderfully through the eyes of toys. Our toys are a reflection of what we see around us, our ideas, dreams and our imaginations. We introduce these ideas to our children in toy form as a form of story telling. Just like ancient stories of the past being past down by word of mouth through generations, which taught us so many lessons of the human experience, our toys are the plastic version of this same occurrence--a tangible component to stories that in some tiny way mean something to us. In so many ways this passing on of toys is happening all around us. Now days we're often reintroducing the toys of yesterday because for some reason those toys just got the job done and marketers of today will breath enough life in them to do it again. Marketers play an interesting and important role in all of this of course, we wouldn't have so many toys were it not for the option to buy so many. Even still, none of us would buy anything they attempted to sell were it not for that something inside us that says it'll be a worthwhile purchase for a deserving child. Toy Story is for people of all ages for this very reason, we've all enjoyed toys and we'll continue to enjoy them either firsthand or through our children.

Ooooh. We want to see it so much but it seems weird to bring a 20 month-year-old to the movies - especially since the experts say babies shouldn't even be introduced to TV or movies until after 2 yrs old! We totally broke that rule a while ago, but still. We'll probably just wait until it comes out on Netflix. It seems like SUCH a long time to wait!!
So, it's new baby city in your neck of the woods. You guys are NEXT!!
