Each night before going to bed—if the kids haven’t lost the privilege with bad behavior—we read a book or series of poems and sing one song. "Two Little Boys" is my favorite lullaby; it reminds me of the relationship of my two little girls. Bedtime is a magical part of the day for a number of reasons. #1) Yeah! The kids are in bed. #2) I love to kiss them goodnight, tell them how proud I am to be their dad, we usually share one last laugh. #3) I am amazed at the faith of little children. I can see the complete trust they have as say goodnight. They trust they’re safe, they’re loved, that the sun will come up in the morning, and that there is more fun to be had after when they wake up.Two little boys
Two little boys, had two little toys;
They each had a wooden horse.
Proudly they played, each summers day;
Warriors they both were of course.
Then one little chap, he had a mishap,
He broke off his horses head.
Wept for his toy, then cried for joy,
When his young comrade said...
“Do you think I could see you crying,
When there’s room on my horse for two?
Climb on Jack and we’ll go flying,
To the ranks of the boys in blue.
When we grow up we’ll both be soldiers,
And our horses they won’t be toys.
Do you think that we’ll remember,
When we were two little boys?”
Long years had passed, they war came at last;
Proudly they marched away.
Canons were loud, killed them in crowds;
Wounded and dying John lay.
Then off heard a cry, a horse passing by,
From out of the ranks of blue.
Galloped away, to where John lay,
Then came a voice strong and true.
“Do you think I could see you dying,
When there’s room on my horse for two?
Climb on John and we’ll go flying,
To the ranks of the boys in blue.
What is it that makes you tremble?
Is it the battle’s noise?
Or is it that you remember,
When we were two little boys?”

That is so sweet! I bet Bobby wishes he was getting tucked in at night by the famous, newest member of the "Motab". :) Lucky girls, lucky girls.
I loved seeing you sing with Alyssa! You are such a good dad. I'm proud of my big brother!
