Productive Painting over the Holidays

I had to take advantage of my Christmas break by getting some things off of my list that I've been meaning to do for quite some time.  I finally adjusted those doors in the basement.  I cleaned the craft room (a.k.a. food storage room, Ryan's room, the painting room, the tool room), we went to the Treehouse Museum as a family, and I finally pulled out some of the oil paints and put them on a canvas.  I found myself at home with some 'me' time one evening so I sat down and began to paint.  The painting is the first of many I'd like to do.  I took this picture of the Christus statue in SLC years ago and it has always been my intent to recreate it large scale.  This painting isn't terribly large (11" x 14" maybe), but with time I'll have a larger version to show off--one that is much more polished that this initial go.
