Sing for your supper and you'll get breakfast

When I first wake up in the morning I feel like my internal motor has got to slowly warm up.  It will eventually run at normal speed after I get some exercise or stretching in and some fuel into my belly.  Why is it that children can wake up at full speed?  Every now and again my girls will have to warm up in the morning like their mom and dad, but for the most part the begin their day with a song in mind.  This morning's chorus consisted of some pleasant babble from Anna in the nursery. Her diction is terrible, but I'm positive that she is right on pitch with what she has in her mind.  Alyssa has a much larger repertoire.  This morning it was her Joy School theme song, "I've Got Joy," but she'll often include several Disney princess pieces in her morning set. We hear the whole thing through her monitor.  Of course the concerts don't last too long, we hear them call out to mom most often.  Our little singers can't sing on a completely empty stomach.
