2011 Ogden Marathon

We had a great day this last Saturday as the whole family participated in the events of the Ogden Marathon. I raced in the full marathon, Becky raced the half, and the kids ran the kids K. Little Joshua participated by patiently observing in the bleachers. The day couldn't have gone any more perfect. I ran my fastest Ogden time at 4:43:00; I followed my game plan for the race and paced myself as to not only enjoy the race, but not to be completely wasted afterward. I was pleased to see that portions of my design for the poster contest that I won last fall were being used everywhere from signage, programs, and even the finishers medals. Many thanks to Doug, Kathy, Brian, and Mary-Jane. Not only were they are great support for us runners, but they were able to take care of the kids all morning.

I'm truly so impressed with you and your marathon skills. I'm pretty sure a half would be my absolute limit (and that would be really pushing myself!) And it's awesome that they used your designs all over the place!

And sadly, I leave Philly this weekend, but I knew you were coming because they were handing out flyers in the ward here last week. Where are you staying? You'll have to take a few races up the Philadelphia art museum steps. And there's a great running loop around the Schuylkill river that you should do if you have time. I think it's 8 or 9 miles long. Easy for a marathoner like you.
