As my wife finishes reading the Twilight series, I'm staying a little closer to reality by reading the 3rd installment of a series of books by Marcus Buckingham which describes the Strength Revolution. In a nut shell the revolution has to do with improving one's self not by making weaknesses strong, but by focusing on one's strengths. The argument is that too much time is wasted by focusing on weaknesses and previous mistakes to improve performance; that time is much better spent by identifying strengths and making those strengths even stronger. As I reflect on personal experience I can definitely see how this train of thought has played out in many accomplishments that I've enjoyed. The trick of this revolution is to first be able to know your personal strengths and apply them. Having a supporting cast of family, friends, or coworkers is also very helpful. Personally, I see the strengths revolution played out in sports quite vividly. Good teams realize the individual strengths of each team member. Forming a team and a strategy based on a variety of strengths is what ultimately brings team success. I'm grateful to have a supporting cast in my home. The wife and I definitely know one another's strengths and not-so-strengths. By letting one another do what we do best, we find a great deal of satisfaction at the end of the day. Yeah. I'm also told in other spheres of influence that by using my strengths in serving others I'll find more. Double yeah. Now if I just could tap into that strength to come across that million dollars I've been thinking about...

Tell Becky that I'm just finishing up the Twilight series too! Lovin' it!
If you want another fantastic book read Anatomy of Peace by The Arbinger Institute. I think it is life changing and I'm looking forward to taking a class on it.
