It was 7 years ago this month that we experienced a house fire in our first little home in South Ogden. It was a kitchen fire and thank goodness that was all. No one was hurt and our kitchen was the only room that sustained damage from actual flames; however, smoke damages, and it can find it's way into every tiny corner of your house, upstairs or down. At times like these one can get rather distraught. Luckily everything turned out more than okay with our home. We were incredibly blessed at the time to find an interim place to stay while our home was repaired and fortunate to be able to increase the value of our home with the renovations. We stayed in that place on Adams Ave for only about 8 months once we got it all put back together from the fire. South Ogden City purchased the home from us so they could bulldoze it and make room for a new fire station. We settled on a price and made our move to Davis County. It is nice to think back about that place. We've made a lot of great memories there. The fire station and renovated park have made the area look better than ever. When I drive by I still like to notice the curb where my mail box was. There is a five bay garage where the house sat. The best memory of all for me though has to do with that fire. It reminds me that I'm still being watched out for and looked over today. Times have changed and so have life's challenges, but the peace of mind the same.
