A Memorable Evening with the Osmonds

I had the unique pleasure of participating in the final performances of the Osmonds 50 year anniversary tour. I'll treasure this experience for not only being a part of Osmond history, but more for what I was able to learn throughout each of the performances. I was a bachelor the week I spent preparing for these concerts and desperately missing my sweet wife and kids who were off in Canada at a family reunion. Needless to say the messages shared by the Osmonds about family got me thinking even more about mine. They are an amazing group of siblings that have truly stood the test of time. Their message was simple, their picture book memories displayed on screen touching, and their mentality of "We've been making music for 50 years, and we're just getting started," have been resonating in my brain ever since. I was being taught by some very special people who have had very special roles throughout their lives. I don't think I could necessarily articulate my lesson learned, but in my minds eye I often saw each of my children running through fields of grass; faces beaming. In those moments I could tell the children where teaching me what life was about, and at the same time reminding me of my responsibilities as their dad. I couldn't wait to see them return from north of the border. Imagine my joy when I looked out into the audience at the performance end and was instantly able to see Becky amidst 21,000 others in attendance. Definitely a special gift for me. We made eye contact, I signed "I love you". She couldn't detect from that far away the tears welling up in my eyes, but they were there. I hadn't seen her in a week. The Osmonds were right; it's all about family.
