I had a chance to see the latest installation of Batman over the weekend. This film wasn't on my must see list, but I couldn't the turn down the free pass from work. The movie was as dark as the theater, but is in my opinion the best Batman movie yet. The cast was perfect with the Joker stealing the show. Heath Ledger's performance was incredible. His portrayal of the Joker made previous attempts to play this role look comical. His scary, insane, and menacing antics seemed to even scare Batman. Quite the curtain call for Ledger. He did for this character what Johnny Depp did to the Pirates franchise; took it to a higher level through creative expression. This may be the last time anyone accepts the chance to play the role of the Joker ever. Who would want to go after Heath? You may as well hang his number from the rafters. The real Joker has stood up.
